If there ever was a time 2 B back in NYC, it was this past New York Fashion week!!!! Phew!
New York was jam packed from top to bottom full of excitement, surprises & the unexpected!
No wonder NYC is called the City that never sleeps!
Let me just give u the rundown of events that took place in the 7 days I was there.
1) NYFW of course.
2) 95 yr old Socialite & fashionista, Zelda Kaplan died at the front row of the Joanna Mastroianni fashion show @ the Lincoln center.
3) Recording artist, actress, producer & model,
WHITNEY HOUSTON died in Los Angeles and the world seemed to have stopped for 5 minutes in absolute shock!!!!
4) The GRAMMY'S went on and ADELE won 6 Grammys.
5) Valenties day meant more to everybody and the City was covered in PINK & RED!
Black history month also known as African-American History Month is an annual observance in the United States, Canada, & the United Kingdom 4 the remembrance of prominent
African-Americans & events in the history of the African diaspora, past and Present!
I think there should be a BLACK HISTORY MONTH in NORWAY & All over the WORLD:-)
7) EMERGE honored André Leon Talley, the editor-at-large for American Vogue magazine.
Aaaaaaaand I was invited!!!! :-)
Andre has been a front-row regular at fashion shows in New York, Paris, London, & Milan 4 more than 25yrs & uses his influence 2 promote young designers & young talent in other fields.

So this was my week and it started with a BANG b'cos I was traveling with my DREAM team, my husband and my very good friend Lionel! HA!

And u have to remember I was going home after a 2 yrs absence (ET go home)
The tears rolled down my cheeks as I ran towards my sister at the airport, there is NOTHING like family....more tears.

So here I was ready, steady, suited & booted 4 NYFW @ Lincoln Center the following day! But what I wasn't ready for was to bump into old friends, Top models & Celebrities left & right, aaaaaaaaand 2 be able to catch it all on camera....ha!

With Canadian & 90210 actress, Shanae Grimes.

Super model Lara Stone who has an exclusive contract with
Calvin Klein made an appearance.

Hair & make-up stylist,  Joey Maalouf from
"The Rachel Zoe Project" TV show, was also on hand to make us all look the more beautiful.

Well, well, well, who do we have here?

Michael is a lovely, lovely guy, really cool & I wish him theeeeee very best in his acting career!

I have always been a great believer that to capture a event, party or show, u must get images from all corners, so b4 we get into the meat & potatoes of the collections I want part one to be about everything that was off the runways at Lincoln center and u will not be disappointed b'cos the fashion was AMAZING......see 4 yourself!

Saturday evening,....The time?
 Approximately 8;30pm........

Well talk about the unexpected.......Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55pm LA time.  And NYFW flew out the window while the entire world watched CNN in shock.
I was going to put up this article yesterday, but I decided to wait until today as there was noooooooo way I was going to miss her home coming funeral on TV.
It just reminded me of the day when Michael Jackson &
 Princess Diana died.
I call this trip, the trip of the unexpected, b'cos NOBODY expected this.
Just like that!!!!!!!!!! NYFW was the last thing on everybody's mind. I couldn't go out, we all just stayed at home throughout the weekend watching CNN.
What a voice! What a Loss.
Rest in peace Whitney, my heart goes out to you, your family & Bobby Kristina. We will always love YOU & I do believe that u would have been very happy & pleasantly surprised at how the world mourned your loss and sent you on your way to rest in eternal peace.

Part 2 coming up, unbelievable, but true, life goes on.
